Your I-751 package must include: the completed Form I-751, the filing fee ($750 as of 2025, check uscis.gov for current fees), a copy of your conditional Green Card (front and back), evidence of the qualifying marriage, and a cover letter summarizing your evidence.
Evidence of a Bona Fide Marriage
This is the heart of your case. Provide as many of the following as possible: joint bank account statements (going back to your marriage date), joint lease or mortgage documents, joint utility bills (electricity, water, gas, phone), joint health or auto insurance policies, joint tax returns (IRS Form 1040 filed jointly), mortgage or property deeds in both names, photos of you together (at events, holidays, with family, dated throughout the marriage), evidence of children born of the marriage, and correspondence addressed to both of you at the same address.
Travel and Communication Evidence
If you lived separately at any point or spent time apart due to work or family, document it: travel records, employment letters, or explanatory declarations. You may also include emails, text message logs, or video call records to demonstrate ongoing communication.
Identity Documents
Include: copies of both spouses' passports, your I-94, your current conditional Green Card, and your marriage certificate with English translation if applicable.
Statements and Affidavits
A personal statement from each spouse explaining how you met, your relationship history, and your current life together can be powerful. Affidavits from people who know you as a couple, friends, neighbors, coworkers, religious community members, add credibility. These should be original, signed, and dated.

How many pages of bank statements should I submit?
Submit at least 12 months of statements for each joint account, highlighting transactions that show shared financial life. More is generally better, up to about 3 years.
What if we don't have a joint bank account?
No single piece of evidence is required. Compensate by providing more of the other evidence types. A written explanation of why you maintain separate accounts is also helpful.
What if we separated or divorced before filing?
You may still qualify for a waiver if the marriage was entered in good faith and the relationship broke down through no fault of your own, or if your spouse subjected you to abuse. Consult a professional before filing.
Should I organize the evidence?
Yes. Use tabs or section dividers and include a table of contents in your cover letter. Well-organized petitions make a better impression and reduce the risk of USCIS overlooking key evidence.
